Doodles are drawings made unknowingly while the person is busy in some other activity.
Doodling is often done by people as a secondary activity, when they are engaged in some primary activity like a meeting, lecture, telephone conversation, listening to scores or speeches, etc. The word doodle means a fool or a simpleton. It is said to have been derived from the German words Dudeltopf or Dudeldop which mean simpleton or noodle. Scientifically, it has been demonstrated that the person making a doodle is keeping himself from swaying into day-dreaming by doodling. So if you are a professor and see a student doodling in your class, don’t stop him, because if he stops doing it he will wander in the dream world.
