Aroma therapy

Aromatherapy can be defined as the systematic use of essential oils in holistic treatments to help improve physical and emotional well-being. It aims to treat the person by taking into account not only of their physical state but also their emotions. It works on the principle that the most effective way to promote health and prevent illness is to strengthen the body’s immune system. It stimulates body’s natural power to heal itself.

WHY AROMATHERAPY?

In other modalities there’s only one common solution for sleeplessness which is sedative. But in aromatherapy we deal with the reason of it.

Why the person is having sleeplessness?
1. If it is due to anxiety (thoughts) for future.
2. If it is because of past memories or resentments.
3. If it is because of some body discomfort.

Why essential oils?

> It is Man’s First Medicine
> God provided plants to assist in healing our minds, bodies and spirits.
> The molecule of EO are lipid (fat) soluble and relatively small, giving them the ability to easily penetrate and travel throughout the body in matter of minute( nearly 20 sec) when inhaled or applied. They can also pass the protective layer of cell to heal them
> Because EO are so small and lipid soluble, they can pass the blood brain barrier and access the central nervous system(brain).

> EO detoxify the body – all the toxic(petroleum product, mercury, aluminium and lead) are store in fat cell. As EO are fat soluble, so it remove toxins.Once toxins are removed the fat is changed into energy.

HOW ESSENTIAL OIL WORKS?

Inhalation will allow EO to enter body in two ways:

  • Electrochemical signals
  • Mucous membrane

When an essential oil is inhaled the molecules stimulate the olfactory epithelium which triggers electrical impulse to the Olfactory bulb in the brain The olfactory bulb then transmits the impulse to the limbic system which controls emotional response. The sense smell is the only one of the five sense directly linked to the limbic lobe of the brain Because the limbic system is directly connected to the part of brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, memory, stress level, immune system, EO can have profound physical and psychological effects

In addition, EO also stimulate hypothalamus to release hormones that affect the entire endocrine system.

The mucous membrane of the respiratory tract provide and easy access for EO molecule to be absorb in the blood stream. Since these molecules are extremely small and float easily through the air, you can simply inhale them into your lungs, which then disperse them into your bloodstream. The blood quickly carries them throughout your body.
